Change in ORR Alignment proposed
According to an article published in the Times of India, the HMDA has proposed an alignment to the ORR:
With several hitches cropping up in completing the 23-kilometre Outer Ring Road (ORR) stretch between Narsingi and Patancheru, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has decided to alter the expressway's alignment temporarily at Poppalguda. For the first time, the HMDA is changing the ORR alignment by half-a-kilometre. However, HMDA officials claim it is only a stop-gap arrangement.
HMDA authorities claim the Narsingi-Patancheru stretch, which is part of the ORR Phase II-A (62 kms) Peddamberpet-Patancheru link, would be diverted at Poppalguda village near Kokapet. The change of alignment became inevitable as a land owner went to court and got a stay order on acquisition of his property, thereby halting works on the Narsingi-Kollur (12 kms) stretch.
