Hyderabad property tax payment
According to a report published on ExpressBuzz.com, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has started counseling the property tax defaulters in Hyderabad.
The report notes, "there are large number of property tax defaulters in the Greater Hyderabad limits who have to clear arrears to the tune of Rs 150 crore to Rs 200 crore. GHMC’s aim is to realize these dues and take up developmental activities and complete the projects that have hit a roadblock due to lack of funds."
The report further cautions "If the defaulters fail to pay even after counselling, red notices will be issued and distress warrants will be slapped by acquiring movable properties, attaching properties and auctioning them to realize the arrears, officials said." Hence, it is in the best interests of the defaulters to clear their arrears.
